Facebook is About to Launch a Standalone TV App

The largest social network Facebook is about to launch a new standalone TV app. The new app will let Facebook users watch videos from their friends and their 'liked' pages on TV, as well as
watching the top live videos. Facebook also said that it will recommend videos based on ones you've already watched but (presumably) on a much larger screen.

The new app will give Facebook better chances of competing with YouTube and other traditional television channels.

Any user with Apple TV, Amazon’s Fire TV and Samsung’s smart TVs will be able to view Facebook’s user-generated videos through their own boxsets.

Facebook CEO, Mark says he wanted "Facebook to become the place users go when they “want to watch videos or want to keep up to date with what’s going on with their favorite show.

Facebook users were watching more than 100 million hours of video every day in early 2016, and Facebook wants even more.

The new app, which will launch in the next few weeks, gives Facebook yet another way to reach consumers interested in videos and, most likely, another platform to sell video ads.

Facebook To Start Paying You For Uploading Videos

Facebook is working on how to start paying you for all those videos you add on Facebook. Virtually, not every facebook users upload videos and when some upload videos, it just a few seconds video..

This future advance development, is just like those YouTube users, as YouTube does through adverts whrn you upload video but don't get too excited yet as there's a twist on this
story. A very painful and worrying one. If you're willing to compromise loosing some of your facebook fans or friends who usually view the videos you upload.

A conversant user of YouTube will remember that there is a pre-roll ads on YouTube that often start earlier before the video you wish to view and might only be skipped after 3seconds?

But Mark Zuckerberg don't fancy the YouTube-style ads so he is planning to introduce a different variety of advertising that might show to be very demanding.

I am talking about mid-roll ads. These ads are coming to facebook videos, and they're going to interrupt what you're
watching to display an advert.

The mid-roll advertisements comes out after you have watched a video for about 20 seconds. Thankfully it is for videos that are about 2 minutes in length, however they have the abilities to make men and women discontinue watching facebook videos after the initial 20 seconds.

Presently, Mid-roll ads have already been tested for live videos, however the brand new rollout will now comprise all videos on facebook.

Interestingly, Facebook will likely be sharing ad revenue with the content material creators, keeping 45% of all revenue for itself - just like YouTube does.

For now, this still in the testing mode, but if it proves successful then assume most videos you see on fb to become ad-infested pretty soon.

Meanwhile, I believe it will have option due to privacy issues on facebook. Facebook wouldn't want to infringe on users privacy by using adverts without users consent. This is my assumption
by the way.

Stats shows that Facebook users are already watching one hundred million hours of video per day, so this may increasingly bag the social community some opportunity to make money by
doing what they love doing.

Do you always upload videos on
Facebook? This move can be a
turnaround that will earn you some cash by just uploading videos.

Diagram of the systems connected to build Jarvis

In his post, he said ;
“So far this year, I’ve built a simple AI that I can talk to on my phone and computer, that can control my home, including lights, temperature, appliances, music and security, that learns my tastes and patterns, that can learn new words and concepts, and that can even entertain Max.”

Reducing SMS Reliance in Account Kit, Introducing Instant Verification for Android

Account Kit is a Facebook-powered phone number and email login solution that is a complementary product to
Facebook Login. Earlier this year we shared some of the positive results from developers who have implemented it
to their apps, and as we continue to evolve the product, we're launching a new instant verification component that is available in the newer Facebook SDKs for Android.

Instant verification is the result of trying to streamline the login process and rely less on SMS for those signing in
with their phone number. When a person enters his/her phone number into an app using Account Kit, via Android services, we attempt a match with the verified phone number listed on the person's Facebook profile. This is only possible if the person is logged into the Facebook app on the same device. If there is a match, we can complete the verification without sending a one-time password (OTP) via SMS, making the sign-in flow more seamless. If there isn't a successful match, a SMS will be sent with a verification code to complete the sign-in. This feature is used only to improve the verification process in a secure way and no additional Facebook information is shared with the app.

Early Partner Feedback
Initial tests show that people entering an app through the instant verification flow have a 97% conversion rate.
Familonet is an app that helps people stay safe by letting them share their location with friends and family in real-
time. Account Kit phone number login increased their registrations by 40%. Recent implementation of instant verification lifted their conversion rates
by 5%, and this continues to rise.
“Account Kit has allowed us to replace the complex service architecture we originally built for SMS-based phone number verification with a one-stop solution.

Now, with instant verification the experience for users is more seamless and we’ve already seen a lift in conversion rates for registrations. ” — David Nellessen, Co-Founder and CTO at Familonet.

We believe this update will make signing in with phone number faster and easier, especially for people in areas of the world where SMS delivery is not reliable You can take advantage of the new feature by integrating the new Facebook SDK for your apps or sites using Account Kit.

Reason Why Mark Zuckerberg Is Copying The Chinese To Put Games On Facebook Messenger

This is a trending tech news from Forbes. Last Tuesday , Facebook launched a new “Instant Games” platform within its Messenger app. Instead of downloading yet another gaming app from Apple iTunes or Google Play, users can play games directly through Messenger, without leaving Facebook’s interface.

These lightweight, HTML5 -based games are designed to be “asynchronous,” where players take turns to make a move without the need to be online all at the same time. Think of it like
playing chess. Popular titles include everything from arcade classics such as PAC-MAN to more modern favorites such as EverWing.

But the idea for a messenger app that bundles games and other app-like services is not new. China’s WeChat, for one, has been doing this for years. Owned by the country’s largest gaming company Tencent , WeChat was initially modeled off WhatsApp, but has since integrated social media with free messaging and calls.

Today, WeChat has more than 800 million monthly active users, a number larger than the entire population of Europe, let alone the United States.
